Financial Education
At Ashmole, we are committed to developing our pupils’ financial literacy, ensuring they leave school with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed financial decisions.
Our Financial Education programme is embedded across all year groups, providing age-appropriate learning opportunities that support personal development, critical thinking and practical life skills. From recognising coins and notes in Key Stage 1, to budgeting, saving and understanding the value of money in Upper Key Stage 2, our curriculum equips our pupils with essential knowledge for managing personal finances and planning for the future.
Our children engage in a wide range of practical activities, including classroom “shop” role-plays, budgeting challenges and collaborative projects, allowing them to apply their learning in meaningful, real-life contexts.
We have worked closely with Young Enterprise, who provide tailored support and resources to ensure full curriculum coverage, enrich learning experiences and offer inspiring opportunities for pupils to develop entrepreneurial skills and financial confidence.
Parents are encouraged to engage with their children’s learning through discussions about money, setting saving goals and exploring financial decisions at home. Our approach ensures that every pupil benefits from a comprehensive financial education that fosters independence, resilience and a strong foundation for lifelong money management and overall wellbeing.
